Excluding or including items from the software catalog

In order to limit the number of software items listed in the Unmapped Soft­ware Items view, you can choose to exclude certain software items. Device drivers, free software and proprietary software for internal use are examples of items you may wish to exclude.

To exclude software items from the software catalog:

  1. Go to the IT Asset Management workspace and expand Software Asset Management > Software Catalog > Software Catalog Maintenance > Unmapped Software Items view.

  2. Select one or more software items.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Exclude Software Item from View. A confirma­tion message opens.

  4. Click Yes to confirm that you wish to continue with the exclusion. The software item is excluded from the software catalog.

To include software items into the catalog (that you have excluded):

  1. Go to the IT Asset Management workspace and expand Software Asset Management > Software Catalog > Software Catalog Maintenance > All Excluded Software Items view.

  2. Select one or more software items.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Include Software Item in View. The software item is included in the software catalog.
